 Oprah’s accolades include multiple Emmy Awards for producing outstanding reality series including “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, 28 honorary doctorates from around the world and a Peabody Award among others.

6. At first I was so surprised by all the publicity for “The Giver” that I thought it must be a great movie. It’s not! The special effects are terrific but not enough to make up for what a bad story this is. I guess if you are 12, you will love it (No kidding).

“The Giver” is a 2014 American drama film based on Lois Lowry’s 1993 novel of the same name. The screenplay was written by Michael Mitnick and Mitnick, who wrote the 1990 novel upon which the film is adapted. It is presented in two parts. The first part is a drama while the second part is more towards anti-war propaganda and summarizes Lowry’s position on war and fighting.
