Reasons to Be Addicted to Craigslist

by Aaron Finch

If you’re not yet addicted to the first and foremost US classified ads website, then you need to read this article. Craigslist near nashville tn is powerful, mysterious, and more addicting than coffee, so here are 12 reasons why you should be hooked on it!

1. There are over 100 million listings on Craigslist.

That’s a lot of items and a lot of stuff – if you’re looking for anything from a cup of coffee to an entire apartment, chances are that it’s listed on the site. This means that it will most likely be easier for you to find what you want with less effort than anywhere else.

2. You can filter and search for the information that you want.

If you’re looking for a job, use the category “Jobs” along with “Communications,” “Web Design,” or whatever it is that you’re looking for. If you don’t find what you want in the first page, use the search bar and choose “Keyword.” This will help separate your search into different categories so that you can find what you need more quickly.

3. You can create a list of things to buy or sell.

This is how I use Craigslist when I’m looking for things to sell, because it’s easy to add items to a list and keep track of what you need. If someone wants something from the list, feel free to communicate with them using Facebook or email.

4. You can create a job search:

I use this service when looking for a job – you can create a profile so that people will consider you for the job opening and send you their resume. Being able to see available positions on the site makes finding one easier, and at the very least you can still get an interview if one doesn’t work out right away.

5. You can create a community for anything.

Use the categories “For Sale” or “Sell” to create a place where people can interact with each other and buy and sell things. I use this to find things to sell, and my friends use it to find new things. It’s so easy that you will want to keep using it!

6. You can get free tickets to concerts, shows, and other events.

This is one of the most addicting features of Craigslist – you can use it to find things like free tickets to a concert or a show that you want to attend. I’ve done this many times, and it definitely helps.

7. You can find out about local illegal activities:

While most people think of Craigslist as a place for selling and buying things, sometimes you need to know what’s going on in your neighborhood before getting involved in something illegal (like purchasing drugs from someone who works at your local pharmacy). Craigslist has searchable forums where anyone can post information about events in the area.

8. You can find out about local charities and events:

If you’re looking for a good cause to donate money or time to, then Craigslist has a searchable directory where you can look up organizations in your area that need your help.

9. You can form a community on the site:

Use the forums and other community service functions of the site to get people involved with what you want them to do. I’ve used these services when trying to find roommates, members for an online guild, or people who want to do something with me.

10. You can use it for making connections:

It’s easy to use Craigslist to find people in your area who want to do something with you. I’ve met my boyfriend of 3 years on Craigslist – and it was just as easy as me browsing through the “For Sale” section (where we both posted a listing) and seeing each other’s listings. I posted mine, responded when he responded, and then soon we were talking on the phone every day, meeting up in real life whenever we could, and dating.

11. You can find jobs on it when you want:

I’ve found a few jobs on Craigslist that I really wanted from time to time – and it’s one of the most popular places for employers to look for new hires. If you’re looking for work, it’s a great place to look during your free time (maybe between classes or anything else that you may have going on).

12. You can make money off of it:

If you’re looking for money, craigslist is where I go to sell things – whenever I’m cleaning out my room or purging my closet, I post everything onto the site and then leave to do something else while the listings are active. If a buyer comes along and responds to one of them (and they usually do), I can make some extra cash.

Summary:

What makes Craigslist so addicting? Why do I use it on a daily basis? It’s the fact that I can go on and look for items to sell whenever I have time, find jobs that are interesting to me, and make plans with people that may be in my area. Maybe you think it’s boring – but I’ve met some of my closest girlfriends through craigslist, found many jobs there, and made a few thousand dollars off of selling things.
