What Disney Movies Can Teach Us About Technology

In a world that is constantly changing, no matter how hard we try not to be surrounded by new technologies, they are unavoidable. With the constant technological advances being made with laptops and smartphones, it can be hard to keep up.

 There is a constantly changing array of technologies.  This constant change can be overwhelming if you, or someone you know, is trying to balance their technology lives in order to stay relatively sane from a technological standpoint.

Here Orzare are some of the Disney movies that can teach about technology :

1. A Goofy Movie-

It is important not to overlook the seemingly smallest details. In this movie, Max was so focused on trying to win Roxanne’s heart that he neglected to make sure that his presentation at school was perfect.

 This important life lesson can be applied not just in school, but in all aspects of everyday life. Sometimes we may think that it is unimportant to pay attention to the small details, but if we ignore those details, we can miss out on the big picture.

2. Monsters Inc.-

 You can never tell what someone else is thinking or feeling just by looking at them! This fact of life is even more important when dealing with people through technology. Just because you know someone online or even through text messages, you should never make assumptions about what they are thinking or feeling.  

Monsters Inc. teaches us that it’s important to be honest, but even more importantly, it’s important to have a face to face conversation so that there are no misunderstandings when communicating with others.

3. WALL-E-

Actions speak louder than words. We would all do well when using technology to remember this well put saying. Repeatedly saying something is not enough to prove your point if the actions behind your words don’t match up with your intentions. 

This can be applied to the way in which we present ourselves online. If a person is honest when communicating with others, but their actions do not match their words, other people will be skeptical of that particular person’s views and intentions.

4. CARS-

Technology is amazing when it works. This can be applied to almost any aspect of technology, from using your smartphone to using the computer at work. It is much easier to deal with technology if you know how to use the various features without having problems.  

Cars teach us this lesson by stating that each new innovation has its own pros and cons. We should always be open to new technology, but we need to make sure that it’s not going to hinder our life in any way.

5. Toy Story-

Technology is not the answer to all of our problems, as even Toy Story shows us. It can help us with school or work, but sometimes it can become a distraction that keeps us from focusing on what really matters: The human connection. Toy Story teaches us that we should make time for important things in life, no matter how hard the situation may be .

6. Monsters University-

 Keep an eye out for trends !!! If you are aware of trends , you will know when it’s time to change direction . Also be aware of the dangers of the trends that you might go crazy. Sometimes it’s better to offer your help than to do nothing.

7. The Incredibles-

Facts are not always right in life. Technology can be a wonderful complement to an honest and positive life, but we need to make sure that we aren’t spending too much time on social media or technology while still having our real lives. Sometimes, if you know how to balance technology with your real life, it will save you from a lot of trouble later on down the road .

8. Ratatouille-

 Technology can be used to create a utopia , but it can also destroy it. Balance is key. Technology can be used to enhance our lives, but we must always remember that technology is not the end of the world . 

The Incredibles teaches us that technology should not get in the way of our lives, instead of using technology to complete tasks for us. Ratatouille teaches us that even though technology can be very helpful , we need to make sure that we are using it wisely .

9. Bolt-

 Technology is sometimes fake . This movie shows this fact perfectly by illustrating how easily people fall for a phony story in order to have something cool. In order to have something cool, sometimes we have to sacrifice what we believe in. Sometimes technology can be used as a fake story to make us believe that it is us who are focused on the fake story.

 In fact, in this movie, it was the technology that caused Bolt’s mother to break down. Even though technology is not the only thing that can cause a person’s downfall, it is important for us to always keep a close eye out for anything and everything that can hurt our lives .

10. Brave-

Technology has been used for good and for evil throughout history . Just because something new has been invented does not mean that it will be beneficial to all people or even just us humans .
